UH-AG-SP01 is intended for AC main distribution boards, building incoming distribution panels and other low-voltage installations requiring Type 1 surge protection against lightning-related transient overvoltages. SPD selection must consider the system voltage, earthing arrangement, lightning protection concept and required coordination with downstream surge protection devices.
Type 1 AC Surge Protective Device 4P 385V – UH-AG-SP01
Model UH-AG-SP01
UH-AG-SP01 is a 4-pole Type 1 AC surge protective device designed to limit transient overvoltages and divert lightning impulse currents in low-voltage AC distribution systems. The 385V AC platform provides a 25kA Iimp rating with a 10/350 μs waveform and a voltage protection level of ≤2.5kV.
- Type 1 Protection
- 25kA Iimp
- 4P / 385V AC
UH-AG-SP01 provides surge protection only and does not replace the circuit breaker or fuse required for overload and short-circuit protection.
Overview
Product Overview
UH-AG-SP01 is a Type 1 surge protective device designed for the incoming side of low-voltage AC distribution systems where lightning impulse current and severe transient overvoltage protection are required. The 4-pole unit provides terminals for three phase conductors and neutral, together with a protective-earth connection.
The product is specified with a maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 385V AC, an impulse discharge current Iimp of 25kA using the 10/350 μs waveform, and a voltage protection level Up of ≤2.5kV. Its modular DIN-rail construction allows the SPD to be integrated into distribution boards and other AC protection assemblies.
Features
Key Product Features
Type 1 Lightning Protection
UH-AG-SP01 is designed as a Type 1 SPD for installations where lightning impulse current may enter the low-voltage AC distribution system.
25kA Lightning Impulse Current
The SPD is marked with an Iimp rating of 25kA using the 10/350 μs lightning-current waveform.
385V AC Continuous Operating Voltage
A maximum continuous operating voltage Uc of 385V AC supports use in appropriate three-phase low-voltage AC distribution systems.
≤2.5kV Voltage Protection Level
The marked voltage protection level Up is ≤2.5kV, indicating the residual protection level specified for the SPD during surge operation.
Four-Pole Construction
The 4P housing provides L1, L2, L3 and N connections together with a PE connection for three-phase four-wire protection arrangements.
Modular DIN-Rail Design
The compact modular construction is designed for installation inside AC distribution boards and related electrical protection equipment.

Installation
Installation Guidance
1. Verify that the AC distribution system voltage, earthing arrangement and required SPD protection mode are compatible with UH-AG-SP01 before installation.
2. Fully isolate the AC supply before installing or servicing the surge protective device.
3. Mount UH-AG-SP01 securely on the specified DIN rail inside the electrical distribution enclosure.
4. Connect the phase conductors and neutral to the terminals marked L1, L2, L3 and N, and connect the protective-earth conductor to the PE terminal according to the approved wiring diagram.
5. Keep SPD connection conductors as short and direct as practical to minimize additional inductive voltage during surge discharge.
6. Install and coordinate the required upstream short-circuit / overcurrent protective device according to the final SPD technical documentation and distribution-system design.
7. Verify all conductor connections, polarity / terminal identification and protective-earth continuity before energizing the AC distribution system.
8. The SPD provides transient overvoltage protection only. It does not replace circuit breakers or fuses required for overload and short-circuit protection.
UH-AG-SP01 provides surge protection only and does not replace the circuit breaker or fuse required for overload and short-circuit protection.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Type 1 surge protective device protect against?
A Type 1 SPD is designed to divert lightning impulse current and limit transient overvoltage entering the low-voltage AC distribution system.
What does 25kA Iimp mean?
UH-AG-SP01 is marked with an impulse discharge current Iimp of 25kA using the 10/350 μs lightning-current waveform used for Type 1 SPD testing.
What does Uc 385V mean?
Uc is the maximum continuous operating voltage that may be continuously applied to the SPD under specified conditions. It should not be confused with the nominal voltage of the complete AC distribution system.
